Keeping earthen walls dry is a key aspect of their conservation. We prefer to use a redundant system that sheds water at grade but also captures it in the subsurface.
The footing is completely exposed, and after determining final grade the plaster is cut at that level.
The damaged stone or adobe footing is repaired and a mud leveling coat applied.
MiraDRAIN 6000® or equivalent "geodrain" is inserted in a continuously slotted pipe that runs to daylight, a drywell or an infiltration gallery.
The geodrain empties to daylight or into a subsurface infiltration gallery.
The geodrain is affixed to the wall under a plaster stop.
The surface is graded away from the plaster stop.
